Aphrodite “Diane” (Kyritsis) Salvidio, 89 of Worcester passed away Thursday, December 17th, 2020, joining in heaven her husband of 62 years, Raymond J. Salvidio who passed away on January 5, 2017.
Diane was born March 6, 1931, in Aidonohori, Greece, the daughter of Vasilios and Athena (Nini) Kyritsis. Raised and educated in Greece and as a young women Diane immigrated to the United States in 1951. Four years later on April 30, 1955, she married the “Love of her life” and husband for the next 62 years, Raymond J. Salvidio. For several years Diane worked as an assembler for GE telecron.
Diane was a women, who cherished being a United States citizen, devoted all her love to her husband, and family her. She loved travel with Raymond, taking care of him, her home, cooking and tending her yard.
Diane’s husband of 62 years, Raymond Salvidio passed away in 2017. She is survived by, her sister-in-law, Elaine Maynard of Worcester; four nieces, Krista Marie Maynard and Athina Kyritsis, MD and her husband Petr Pokorny, Tina and Debbie; a nephew, Zannos Grekos, MD; grandnieces, Demitrianna, Valentina and Dionysia Grekos; grandnephews, Zannos Grekos, and Andreas Grekos; a brother-in-law Dennis Duval; several cousins and other extended family members. In addition to her parents and beloved husband Raymond, a brother, Michael “Mike” Kyritsis, a sister, Chrisoula Duval and two brother-in-laws, Donald R. Salvidio and Dick Maynard all pre-deceased her.
Out of an abundance of caution with COVID 19. Calling hours, funeral service and burial will be held privately. Diane will be buried next to her husband Raymond in Massachusetts Veteran Cemetery in Winchendon. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
