Arcadio “Papo” Santana, aged 77, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on January 13, 1947, to the late, Valentine Santana and Justina Alicea. Arcadio worked as a forklift driver for Rand Whitney for 28 years before retiring.
Arcadio is survived by his beloved wife, Guillermina Santana of Worcester; his loving children, Angel L. Santana of Worcester, Pedro L. Morales of New Bedford, and Linda Zayas of West Boylston; his adored grandchildren, Talyha Santana, Melinda Morales, Lisa Morales, Anthony Lemanski, Jr., and Ayden Zayas; his dear four great-grandchildren.
A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Funeral Mass will be held for Arcadio on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham Street, Worcester, with a brief calling hour from 9:00am to 10:00am for family only. Interment will immediately follow Mass at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
