Barbara Ann (Lomartire) Mahoney

Barbara Ann (Lomartire) Mahoney, 79, a longtime Boylston resident, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, July 28th, 2021.

Barbara, lovingly known as “Nana” to her family, is survived by her husband, Brian; their two children, Erin E. Tanner and her husband Jack of Rutland, Sean P. Mahoney, and his fiancée Anne Bouchard of Boylston; two grandchildren she cherished and was so proud of, Sean and Jenna Keller; extended family members and friends.

Barbara was born in Worcester on April 30, 1942, the daughter of Albert C. and Italia “Tillie” (DeSimone) Lomartire. She was born and raised in Worcester. In 1975, Barbara and Brian married, and they began raising their family in Oxford before moving to Boylston in 1984.

Barbara was a member of St Mary of the Hills parish. Along with her husband, her children always came first in her life no matter what. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, family dinners, knitting, needlepoint, crochet, crossword puzzles, gardening and watching T.V. Her unwavering faith kept her grounded and helped her through life's challenges. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.

A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, August 5th from 9 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a procession to St Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St Boylston where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester.
