Barbara Ann (Watson) Lacosse, 88, of Worcester, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Beaumont at University Campus. Her husband, Francis J. Lacosse of 31 years passed away in 1980.
Barbara was born on April 18, 1930 in Southbridge, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by her father George A. Watson and her mother Genevieve (Riley) Watson. She is also predeceased by her son, Francis Michael Lacosse; three brothers, George Jr, Donald and Robert Watson and a sister, Miriam Cozzens.
She worked for many years for Red Knit Mills, Chevalier Furniture and finally as a consultant for Olan Mills Portrait Studio in Worcester.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara M. Clayman of Port Charlotte Florida; two grandchildren, Janine Soffron of Weare, NH and Kelley Boyle of Whitinsville, MA; five great grandchildren, Tina, Amber, Dennis, Samantha, James and two great grandchildren, Adeleine and Lucille. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her family dearly and delighted in spending time with her children as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was kind and generous. She adored her Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Worcester County Memorial Park in the Honor section, 217 Richards Avenue Paxton MA. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent in her memory to Francis M.
