Bernarda Fraioli

Bernarda (Fraioli) Fraioli, 92, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020, at UMass Hospital. Her loving husband of forty-eight years, Stefano Fraioli, predeceased her in April 2001.

Bernarda is survived by two adoring sons, Mario Fraioli of Auburn, and John Fraioli and his wife Debra of Worcester; six grandchildren, Mario Jr. and his wife Christine Gould, Jayme and her wife Katherine, Jessica and her fiancé John, John Jr. and his wife Amanda, Lisa, and Matthew. She was predeceased by Mario’s wife, Shirley Fraioli in 2008, and was the last surviving of six siblings born to the late Giovanni and Antonia (Fraioli) Fraioli in Rocca D’Arce, Italy. She was raised in Italy and lived a short time in France before settling in the Shrewsbury Street area of Worcester, where she raised her family.

Bernarda was a hardworking woman who cared deeply for her family and thrived with delight in her grandchildren. She worked for many years in the house keeping department at Worcester State Hospital, before retiring. Never being one to sit idle, she continued to work part-time at local markets, keeping herself busy. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Calling Hours will be on Thursday, January 23, from 4p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Friday, January 24, departing the funeral home at 10:40 a.m. in procession to an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Entombment beside her husband will follow at Saint John’s Mausoleum, Worcester.
