Blair John Walker, 64, of Shrewsbury, MA, passed on the evening of December 30, 2018. Blair was being visited and comforted by family members at the time of his passing.
Blair was born on September 17, 1954, in Wilkinsburg, PA. He was the fourth child and only son to Charles “Doc” Walker and Minnie (Neiman) Walker.
Blair was a very special ray of sunshine to many people. He graduated from Sunrise School, Monroeville PA, in 1974, and attended the Seven Hills Adult Day Health program, Worcester, MA for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pitcairn, PA. He participated in the Special Olympics, and was extremely proud of his medal. Blair was an inspiration to all who knew him. He loved Elvis, Batman, music, dancing, and his family and many friends most of all. He had a caring demeanor, smiling blue eyes, and a contagious smile.
Blair was preceded in death by his parents and also his sister Karen Lee Siebert. He is survived by his sisters and their husbands, Eileen M. Larouere, Timothy D. Larouere, Beverly A. Wilson, and Andrew H. Wilson Jr. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, grand nephews and a grand niece and many loving friends.
His family would like to gratefully acknowledge the love and care provided by the 185 Lake Street Group Home team in Shrewsbury.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00-8:00pm, Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA. Funeral services and interment will be held in Irwin, PA. A Celebration of Life gathering in Shrewsbury, MA will be announced at a later date.
