Bonnie G. Jackson, passed away peacefully on September 27th, after a long illness.
She leaves behind her life partner of 45 years, Dermott O’Leary; a son, Jeremy Jackson of West Hartford, CT and his girlfriend Coey Howe; stepchildren, Jennifer (O’Leary) Smith & Brian, and Justin O’Leary & Julie; brothers, Dwight and Mark Jackson; sisters, Karin Herrick & Bill, Beth Ann Jackson, and Pamela Riendeau; 3 grandchildren, Leah Jackson, and Jake and Dylan Smith; 1 great grandchild, Oliver Smith; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Desmond and Gladys (Simonian) Jackson and her beloved Emmy dog.
Bonnie attended Burncoat Senior High School and Broms Hairdressing Academy. She was employed for over 30 years by Papa Gino’s restaurant, retiring in 2011. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and vacationing at Moody Beach, Maine.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses, aides, staff, and doctors at UMASS Memorial Emergency, Oncology, Palliative, and Wound Care units, Oriole Home Health, JHC Hospice, and Rose Monahan Hospice House.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 10:30am with interment to follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, Bonnie requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
