Brenda Lee Givings Briddell

Brenda Lee Givings Briddell, 56, of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, October 6, 2018. 

She is survived by her loving family, including two sons, Daron Brown, John Paul Jones, Jr., three daughters, Kela Jones, Latonya Hazard and her husband Ras, and Candice Jones, all of Worcester; three brothers, James White and his wife Becky of Gastonia, NC, Charlie Jackson, Jr. of Statesboro, GA, Bobby Hammond and his wife Somona of Worcester; six sisters, Princilla Walker and her husband Harry Walker, Jr. of Worcester, Yolonda Johnson and her husband Irvin, Ureka Scarlett and her husband Alvis, Itaska Riley, Vondylyn Riley and Charoneko Riley, all of Tampa, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  Brenda was born in Levy County, Florida, daughter of the late Willard Riley and Rosa Lee Givings.

Brenda worked for many years as a C.N.A. at the Greenery and Auburn Life Care Center.  She was very active in her church, Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, where she thought of everyone there as family.  She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, did community outreach, and was a missionary of the church.  She would spend countless hours in the church kitchen preparing meals for members and meals that were sold to people that simply loved her Southern cooking.

Brenda was like a mother to many people and had a heart of gold. 

Calling Hours for Brenda will be on Thursday, October 18, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral Service will be on Friday, October 19, at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, 63 Wellington Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
