Brian C. Dorval, 71 of Worcester, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 6, 2021 at home with his wife by his side.
Brian was born in Winchendon, MA, where he graduated from Murdock Jr. Sr. High School. He was a son of the late Raymond and Lila (Colburn) Dorval. Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Cynthia A. (Ward) Dorval; his son, Brian C. Dorval, Jr. of Worcester; a brother, Dr. Brent Dorval and his wife Carolyn of Douglas, MA.; two sisters, Sheila Dorval of York Harbor, ME. and Susan Dorsey and her husband James of Shirley, MA.; a granddaughter, Katelyn Pawlina and her partner Patrick Entwistle of Spencer, MA; a niece, Gwendolyn Gagne of Worcester; an aunt and uncle, Gerry Dorval and Leonard Dorval both of Gardner; and a very close family friend, Carol Costa of York Harbor, ME. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Dr. Bruce Dorval.
The family wishes to thank Dr. George Abraham and Dr. Richard Goddeau for their excellent care over the years.
Brian worked as a supervisor for the former King Kalipers Inc. in Peabody before he retired in 2017. For many years he played softball in the Gardner, MA area with a great group of guys. He was one of the best center fielders in the area, even if he did say so himself! The best word to describe Brian was “unpretentious.” He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Pats. He was an expert pie maker, and proud of it!
Brian was devoted to his family and loved them beyond measure. He will be missed.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions in his name can be made to: Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA. 01606.
MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
