Candace “Candy” ”Bo” Buffone, 61, a sweet, authentic, and sensitive individual of Worcester passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, with her sister MaryLou & her husband Jim gathered at her bedside. Candy was born with a severe case of Marfan Syndrome and withstood its life-long challenges with good cheer and a lively sense of humor.
Candy was born in Worcester, one of three daughters to Louis L. and Mary Grace (DiPucchio) Buffone. Raised and educated in Worcester, graduating from Doherty Memorial High School.
Candy is survived by two sisters, including MaryLou Pierozzi and her husband James of North Ft Myers, Florida; a nephew, Anthony Harrington of Worcester; another niece and nephew, friends, and extended and family, including her cousin Scott Williamson who had the great pleasure of assisting Candy however he could and shared many enjoyable meals with her at her home.
Candy enjoyed lively conversation, good comedy, politics, The Elves Club, family vacations to the beach in West Dennis on Cape Cod as a child, going out to nice dinners, and was always up for a Newton Sq. pizza or hamburger plate. Although her eyesight was very poor, she loved reading and tinkering with gadgets, was highly intelligent, and a great fan of cats and kittens, especially Calico Joe & Lola.
A period of calling hours will be held Monday, September 11th 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. followed by a prayer service. Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, C/O VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street Worcester, MA 01608.
