Carol A Langowski Ward

Carol Ann (Danzilio) Langowski Ward, 84, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester.  Her husband, Francis Ward, predeceased her in 2007.

Carol is survived by two sons, John (Jack) Langowski and his wife Karen of Portland, Oregon, and Jay Ward and his wife Celeste of Stratham, NH; a daughter, Jill Bergstrom Capuano and her husband Mike of Worcester; a brother, Joseph Danzilio and his wife Catherine of Ocean Pines, MD; a sister, Geraldine Morello of Worcester; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  Carol was predeceased by her eldest grandchild, Jennifer Bergstrom, on May 31 of this year. 

Carol was born in Worcester, daughter of James and Katherine (Chivallati) Danzilio, and has proudly lived here all her life. She grew up, she loved to tell us, on Foch Ave in a house built by her grandfather, the founder of Worcester Mason Construction Co., Anthony Chivallati. She graduated from Commerce High School and attended Worcester State University.

Carol was a bookkeeper and worked for several area restaurants including Finian’s Restaurant in the former Worcester Center Galleria and Shannon’s formerly in Auburn across from the mall.  She practiced flower and herb gardening as well as crafting, which led to her operating the “Craft Workshop” from her home.  She was also a skilled astrologer, completing hundreds of charts. Carol finished her working career as the marketing manager for GoLocalBiz based in Marlboro.  She was a member of Our Lady of The Rosary Church, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, camping in Bourne on the Cape, and decorating for the season.

Calling hours will be on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery.
