Carol A. (MacNutt) Pennell, 78, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at UMass Hospital in Worcester.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Charles V. Pennell, Sr.; a son, James F. Pennell and his wife Susan McDermid of Grafton; a daughter, Brenda L. Smith and her husband Stephen of Worcester; a sister, Joan Hogan of Florida; two grandchildren, Vincent C. and Jennifer M. Pennell; three great grandchildren, Bryce, Ryleigh, and Raegan; nieces and nephews. Carol and Charles have endured the pain that no parent should feel with the death of their son, Charles V. Pennell, Jr. in 2016, and the death of their grandson, Adam Smith; she was also predeceased by a sister, Mary Belculfine. Carol was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alton P. and Philomena (Scarale) MacNutt and has lived here all her life.
Carol worked for many years as an office manager at Mello-Tone Vending, now Sun-Star. She had previously worked for a short time at Spag’s Supply.
Carol was dedicated to her family and while working a full-time job, she assuredly cared for all their needs; she kept an immaculate home and was a wonderful wife and mother. She enjoyed arts and crafts, crochet, and knitting, as well as tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
