Catharine D. “Kitty” (Valentine) Clarke, 77 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Care One Millbury.
Catharine was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Robert Valentine and Doris (Flagg) Sargent. She attended North High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Kitty worked as an operator at Allegro Micro Systems for over 20 years before her retirement. Kitty was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She loved socializing in her retirement community where she lived and would organize weekly communion at mass for the residents, a job which she loved. She also loved going to shows at the theater with her friends and having sleepovers with her grandchildren.
Kitty is survived by her son, Wayne Clarke and his fiancé Ethel Rivera of Webster; her daughter, Ellen Lehto and her husband Rick of Southbridge; four brothers, Robert Valentine and his wife Renee of Florida, Richard Sargent and his wife that she considered her “sister sister”, Doris of Worcester, Thomas Valentine and his wife Sharon of West Boylston and Reed Sargent and his wife Michelle of Grafton; her former husband who she remained close friends with, Earle F. Clarke of Florida; four grandchildren, Michael Lehto and his wife Krystal, Tiffani Lehto, Ashley Liljegren and her husband Sean and Kaitlyn McLaughlin; seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Kitty will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, October 5th from 9-11 am in the funeral home prior to departure for her funeral mass.
