Catherine B. “Kitty” (Valarioti) Danzilio, 92 of Newmarket, N.H, passed away, Thursday, October 27, 2022, with family gathered at her side. Kitty is welcomed into the arms of her husband of 71 years in heaven, Joseph J. Danzilio who passed away August 10th.
Catherine was born in Worcester, the daughter of Domenic and Nancy (Scerra) Valarioti. In 1951, She married Joseph J. Danzilio and began a 71-year life of faith, family, love, and devotion. Joseph served in the U.S. Army and after Joe’s discharge, they settled in Marlborough where they raised their family for over 40 years before joining their son, David and his family in Albuquerque, NM from 2005 to 2015, and their daughter, Denise in Ocean City, MD, from 2015 through 2021. They have lived in N.H. for this past year. Catherine worked as a cosmetologist, in Worcester many years, most of which for Laura Casale Salon and Madonna Hall in Marlboro before retiring.
Catherine is survived by her four children, Susan Wolfson of Marlboro, Michael J. Danzilio of Babylon, N.Y., Denise Griben and her husband Andre of Ocean Pines, Md, David M. Danzilio and his wife Lucille with whom she lived; seven grandchildren; a sister, Florence “Flo” Murgo; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to her husband Joseph and parents, a brother Joseph Valarioti predeceased her.
She was a devoted Catholic who helped her church, St Matthias Church in Marlborough as a volunteer and eucharistic minister. Along with her husband, her children, and grandchildren, always came first in her life no matter what. Kitty was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to them throughout her life. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed cooking for her family, hosting special celebrations, holidays and birthdays, decorating her home and the outdoors, tending to her pristine yard. Kitty truly believed that faith, family, and friends were most important in life and had room in her heart for everyone she met. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.
A period for calling hours will be held Monday, October 31, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, followed by a precession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where her celebration of Christian burial Mass will be held at 11:30. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St Jude Children’s research hospital, 501 St Jude way, Memphis, Tenn
