It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Celia (Raeva) Grinshpan of Worcester, MA on May 7, 2024, at the age of 88 years.
Celia was born to Naum Raev and Rosa (Rivenson) Raeva in Dzerzhinsk, Belarus October 2, 1935. She moved to her permanent residence in Worcester, MA in 1980.
Celia loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She was a World War II survivor. She was a gregarious, positive, and uplifting person who loved people, and took great enjoyment in cooking, and sharing her life stories with her grandchildren and friends.
Sadly, Celia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leyb Grinshpan of Worcester, MA, in 2018.
Celia is survived by her loving children, Svetlana Grinshpan and Marina Grinspan, and her adored grandchildren, Raymond Rosenbloom, Nicole Grinspan, and Ellen Grinspan Chiang.
A Funeral Service will be held on May 10th, 2024, at 1:30pm at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Family and friends are welcome to gather prior to services from 1:00pm to 1:30pm. Interment will immediately follow the services at B’Nai Brith, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Celia’s memory to United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
