Charlene M. (Marculitis) Sclamo, age 56 of Rutland, was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend who passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, with loved ones gathered by her side. She has arrived in Heaven into the arms of her only daughter Cassandra, who passed away in 2015.
Charlene was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Joan E. (Grigas) Marculitis and the late Edward W. Marculitis. She graduated from Burncoat High School 1983 , attended Newbury College, and earned her Associates Degree from Becker Jr. College. In 1992, Charlene married the love of her life Peter M. Sclamo. They briefly settled in Worcester, later moving to Rutland in 1992 to raise their daughter with love, faith, devotion, and family. Charlene worked alongside her husband and brother-in-law, Gary, as the CFO in the family business, Sclamo Appliances. She previously worked as a legal secretary for 15 years.
Charlene leaves her devoted husband of 30 years, Peter M. Sclamo; her mother, Joan E. (Grigas) Marculitis; sister and best friend Cynthia A. Marculitis both of Worcester; a brother, John Marculitis, and his wife Terri of Grafton; In-laws, Gary Sclamo and Nancy Marculitis. She also leaves her god children, Jennifer and Alicia, nieces, Lauren, Allison, Emily, Kayla and Kateri; nephews, John, James, and Michael; her beloved pets, Buddy and Parker; and many extended family and friends. She is now reunited with her daughter Cassandra Sclamo who had passed away in 2015, her brother Edward R (2006), her father Edward (2014) and her former pet dogs Romeo and Paigey.
Charlene always put others before herself, she was dedicated to her family, with a kind soul, bright smile, and great personality, always willing to help anyone and everyone when the need arose. Charlene loved the beaches of Cape Cod and Ogunquit, Maine. She was an avid puzzle aficionado and enjoyed being with her sister and family. Charlene spent much of her childhood with her sister in the sandbox creating gourmet mudpies, which would later be displayed in her famous potato salad. Charlene was a proud Lithuanian, who always looked forward to family gatherings such as Kucios, special occasions, and any time her family could be around her.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 22 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral service will be held Friday, July 23rd at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
