Charles T Glodas

December 13, 1943 — January 24, 2021

Charles T. Glodas, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester.

Born in Worcester on December 13, 1943, Charlie was the only child of Anthony J. and Helen V. (Lapinsky) Glodas. He was raised in Grafton at his family’s home on Lake Ripple and lived there for many years caring for his mother after his father passed. He later moved to Worcester. Charlie had a career in information technology for several banks and taught business at Quinsigamond Community College. He was also a radio technician for several Worcester radio stations including WTAG, WICN and WNEB.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Helen Glodas, and his close friend and companion Theresa M. Bafaro of Worcester. He is survived by his cousins Linda Yanowicz, John Higgans, Loretta Clayton, Pat McCrohon, Susan Guillette, George Lapinsky, Ann Figueras, Marie McCrohon and Charles Nichols Jr, many extended families including Joseph J. Bafaro and Sara M. Howard and the entire Bafaro family, and many friends.

Charlie was a kind, quiet person who was devoted to his mother and to caring for her in her declining years. He cherished his friendships and enjoyed meeting with friends for coffee, dinner, a concert or a comedy show. He enjoyed spending time and welcoming friends at his house on Cape Cod, assisting the radio broadcast of the Holy Cross football games, and always had a good book that he was reading.

Out of an abundance of caution for friends and family, funeral services for Charlie will be held privately. Charlie will be buried next to his parents in St Philip’s Cemetery in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Be Like Brit Foundation, Inc., 66 Pullman Street, Worcester, https://www.belikebrit.org. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements. Charlie’s funeral mass will be live streamed for those wishing to watch beginning at 10am, Saturday, February 13, by visiting www.mercadantefuneral.com and clicking on live services.
