Charles “Carmine” Paldino, 72 of Worcester, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center.
Charles was born on February 2, 1949, in Acri, Calabria, Italy and was preceded in death by his father, Armando Paldino and his mother Lauretta Algieri. Mr. Paldino was a machinist for Norton Company in Worcester for 31 years. He was a Charter Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4311.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Maria (Capalbo) Paldino; his son, Armando C. Paldino of Worcester; a daughter, Laura D. Laratro and her husband Antonio of Worcester; two brothers, Angelo and Paolo Paldino; two sisters, Teresa & Filomena Paldino all of Italy; two grandchildren, Nicola and Martina Laratro of Worcester and many nieces and nephews.
Charles enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden and liked making people laugh with his unique sense of humor. He was a generous person with a heart of gold and his door was open for anyone. He was a man who was very proud of his Italian heritage and kept his Calabrese traditions, like making wine, sausage, homemade tomato sauce and he was the best in town at finding mushrooms. He was a family man who was happiest when surrounded by his wife, children and especially his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy.
Charles funeral will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021, from The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
