Cheryl A D'Andrea

July 31, 1953 — September 5, 2021

Cheryl A D’Andrea, 68 of Holden, previously Worcester, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, Sunday, September 5, 2021, joining her parents and brothers in heaven.

Cheryl was born in Worcester, July 31, 1953, the daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Sweeney) D’Andrea.  She graduated from Marian High School, and Worcester Girls trade and obtained her license as an LPN.   Cheryl accepted a position with Hahnemann Hospital and later with the Worcester State Hospital, retiring upon the hospital’s closure.

Cheryl is survived by her brother, Joseph D’Andrea and his wife Julie; four nephews, Brian D’Andrea and his wife Tara, Matthew D’Andrea and his wife Nicole, James D’Andrea and his wife Ashley, and Jay D’Andrea; a niece Kathleen Delude and her husband Christopher. Cheryl also had extended family including Jeff Moran and his wife Alyssa, and Tammy Legere.  In addition to her parents, she joins in heaven, two brothers, Jay, and James D’Andrea and her best friend Paulette Moran.

Cheryl loved to vacation in Maine with her family in her youth. Cheryl also enjoyed reading, playing cards and Bingo. Notably, card playing was her favorite. After becoming ill and a patient of Oriol Healthcare Center of Holden, she took advantage of making lots of wonderful friends with other patients and staff. Cheryl was always willing to draw them into playing a game of cards. When Cheryl became unable to play, the staff would continue to stop by her room and let her know they were there for her, trying to make her as comfortable as possible.

The D’Andrea family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, Administration and Staff of the Oriel Healthcare Center for the five years she was a patient and the Notre Dame Hospice for care, comfort, and compassion they provided.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, September 12, from 12 noon to 2 pm and again Monday from 9 am to 10 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  followed by a procession to St Andrew the Apostle Church, Spaulding Street where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to The Oriel Healthcare 52 Boyden Road, suite 206, Holden or the Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation St. Worcester.
