Cheryl L. Firmani

Cheryl L. (Heaney) Firmani, 63 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at home with her family by her side.

Cheryl, known by her friends as Sherri, was born in Detroit, Michigan where she was a graduate of Denby High School and later received a certification from RETS Electronic School. Sherri moved to Worcester in 1985 and worked as a teacher’s aide for special needs children for the City of Worcester School Department. She previously worked as a Computer Technician for Digital Equipment Corporation. Sherri was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was extremely creative; enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, quilting, crafts and nature.

Sherri is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Michael A. Firmani; her son, Matthew M. Firmani of Medford; her daughter, Sarah J. Firmani of Worcester; her mother, Joanne C. (Toth) Heaney of Higgins Lake, MI; a brother, Sean Heaney and his wife Lee of Marietta, GA; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Firmani of Leominster; two brothers-in-law, Charles Firmani of Fitchburg and Stephen Firmani of Leominster, MA; two sisters-in-law, Karen Chaban and her husband David of Leominster and Dawn Heaney of Marietta, GA; seven nephews and five nieces, Brandon Chaban, Andrew and Patrice Griffin, Austin and Tyler Firmani, Christopher and Nicholas Heaney, Breanna Appugliese, Cara and Brian Heaney, Michelle Keese and Bethanne Firmani. She is predeceased by her brother, Timothy Heaney and her sister-in-law, Sandra Cormier.

Services for Sherri will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am to be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, July 29th from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
