Christopher A. Merolla, 40 of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Christopher was born in Worcester and lived there all his life. He graduated from Doherty High School; Class of 1996. He later received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Westfield State College and an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Quinsigamond Community College. Christopher worked for over 20 years at Sam’s Club in Worcester as a produce clerk and most recently at Wal-Mart in Leicester. He enjoyed traveling especially with his best friends. They vacationed often and always had many stories to share. Christopher was also an avid sports fan.
Christopher is survived by his father, Anthony A. Merolla; his brother, Nicholas A. Merolla both with whom he lived; two aunts, Kathy Saulnier and her husband Richard of Worcester and Judy Kozak of Auburn; an uncle, John F. Gallagher and his wife Donna of Barre; many cousins, friends and co-workers. Christopher is predeceased by his mother, Theresa J. (Gallagher) Merolla who passed on March 28, 2016. He is also predeceased by two sisters, Jonetta and Christine Merolla; his paternal grandparents, Albert C. and Jennie M. (Poti) Merolla, Sr; his maternal grandparents, John F. and Lois (Parrott) Gallagher; an uncle, Albert C. Merolla, Jr.
Services for Christopher will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 25th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
