Confesor "Pito" Maldonado

Confesor “Pito” Maldonado Arroyo, 80 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Confesor was born in Manati, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Felix Maldonado and Marcia Arroyo and where he graduated from high school. He worked for many years as a police detective in Puerto Rico and later after moving to Massachusetts he worked as a radio host for WCUW 91.3 FM in Worcester, a job he loved and did for over 20 years. Confesor loved music especially old typical music from Puerto Rico and playing the guitar. In his spare time, Confesor was very good at carpentry work, woodworking and dealing with anything wood. Confesor was funny, very active and always on the go. You could always find a smile on his face, laughing or in a good mood no matter what. Confesor was an extraordinary father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend. His huge Hispanic family was always his priority and he loved being surrounded by them.
Confesor is survived by his three sons, Irvin Maldonado of Worcester, Felix “Flex” Maldonado and his wife Miosotis Diaz of Southbridge and Confesor Maldonado, Jr. of Worcester; three daughters, Eliset Maldonado of Worcester, Jacqueline Maldonado and her husband Alfredo Orlando Trinidad of Fitchburg and Milagro “Mimi” Maldonado and her husband Hector Vasquez, Sr. of Webster; 26 grandchildren, Santiago Maldonado, Irving Maldonado, Jr., Irmarie Maldonado, Jeshua Maldonado, Jayceon Maldonado, Mia Diaz-Ortiz, Jacob Flex Maldonado, Genesis Alyne Maldonado, Jared Lex Maldonado, Felix Maldonado, Isais Maldonado, Xavier Maldonado, Rosaly Lugo, Melissa Gomez, Jessica Gomez, Luis Gomez, Jr., Ronnie Gonzalez, Jr., Ronaldo Gonzalez, Jacknir Gonzalez, Jonathan Rosario, Alfredo Trinidad, Anthony Maldonado, Hector Vasquez, Jr. and Eric Vasquez; 49 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a granddaughter, Luz Celeste Trinidad; three brothers, Bonifacio Sierra Arroyo, Arcadio Sierra Arroyo and Marcelino Sierra Arroyo; a sister, Virginia Sierra Arroyo.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, February 17th from 4-8 pm in the funeral home.
