Congetta (Corio) Ditaranto

Congetta M. (Corio) Ditaranto, of Auburn, died peacefully with her family gathered at her side, Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Her husband Joseph G. Ditaranto passed away in 2011.   She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn M. Kobel, Joan A. McGourty and her husband David, Debra L. Dumas and her husband Raymond all of Auburn; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Antoinette Baroni, Gilda Ritacco and Stella Piccarelli, and brothers, Patrick, Frank, John and Thomas Corio, son-in-law F. William Kobel, Jr and grandson-in law Robert A. LaPierre, Jr. 

Mrs. Ditaranto was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Gaetano and Adelaide (Ranucci) Corio.

She graduated from Commerce High School and retired after 34 years of service from St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Boston Children's Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, Ma 02215.  The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements. 

Special thanks to caretakers, Nelly, Lucy, Katherine and Felister, the staff of Homestead Hall and the Hospice Nurses of VNA of Southern Worcester County for the loving care that they provided.
