Constance Rita (Hatjakos) Donohue, 98, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home of 81 years, with family by her side. Constance was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Donohue, who had passed in 1990.
Sadly, in addition to her beloved husband and parents, Constance is predeceased by her siblings, Helen Rancke, Marion Bandy, June Buron, Gregory Hatjakos, and George Hatjakos.
Constance leaves her loving children, Brian Donohue and his wife Gina Donohue, Sandra C. Donohue, her adored granddaughter Alexandria Donohue; as well as cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester to Alexander C. and Annastasia (Backolski/Smith) Hatjakos. Constance resided in Worcester her whole life, graduating from Class A of Commerce High School in 1941. Upon graduation, she was hired by Prudential Insurance Agency. Her attention to detail and organizational skills lead her to achieve head office supervisor. She remained at Prudential until the birth of her first child. Later in life Constance accepted a position as activities director with Armstrong Nursing Home.
Constance excelled at a number of things. She was a model for June Raymond Modeling Agency. She was chosen to sing in the soprano section of The Messiah and was also part of the Friendship Singers. A portrait Constance had done was chosen to be viewed in the Worcester Center Galleria. She was also very passionate about plants, flowers, and animals. She was also a volunteer art and activities teacher at the Boys Club.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL. Interment to immediately follow the service at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
