Daniel "Dan" Abraham

May 12, 1933 — March 5, 2024

Daniel H. Abraham, age 90, a devoted and faithful member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.

Daniel was born in Worcester, one of three sons of Henry F. and Amelia M. (Abdelmaseh) Abraham. Raised in Worcester, Dan graduated from the Commerce High School class of 1951. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his return and discharge from service, Dan pursued his passion for cosmetology, earning his degree from Mansfield Beauty Academy. He embarked on a fulfilling career in cosmetology, initially working at the former Bancroft Hotel Salon before establishing his own salon, "Dante's Hair Salon." For over thirty-seven years, he led his company before retiring. Even in retirement, Dan remained active, generously volunteering his time for his church, St. George Orthodox Cathedral, and various cosmetology boards and organizations.

Daniel was a valued member of the National Cosmetology Association, its Worcester affiliate, the Massachusetts Cosmetology Association, and its Executive Board. He also served on the advisory boards of Worcester Vocational Trade High School and Springfield Technical School. Dan dedicated himself to educating others as a lecturer for continuing education seminars and was involved in the Civitan Club of Worcester, International Toastmasters of Worcester, Downtown Business District Association, and the St. Jude Children's fundraising program on television. As a cherished member of St. George Cathedral, Dan actively participated in the men's club, supported the church during events, and regularly attended religious services.

Dan's beloved wife, Barbara, predeceased him. He is survived by his brother and best friend, Everett Abraham, a nephew, Brett Abraham, niece Deanna Abraham, grand nephews and nieces, extended family, and numerous friends. In addition to his parents and wife Barbara, his brother Robert also predeceased him.
