Daniel Gerald Maurice, 65 a resident of Mendon and formerly Northborough passed away suddenly on November 17, 2024. He was born in Hudson, the son of the late Gerald and Muriel (Cummings) Maurice. He leaves his wife of 24 years Susan (Short), his beloved dog Snowball and a recently adopted cat Princess.
He also leaves his siblings Pamela Dietz her longtime companion Fran Mattioli of Northborough; his sister Teri Muccini and her husband Tony of Upton; along with many nieces and nephews.
Dan graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in 1977 where he was a member of the soccer and tennis teams. He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1979. He followed in the footsteps of his father with a love for working on cars and worked as a mechanic at various locations over the years. He had recently retired and enjoyed having time to relax and do some fishing.
He LOVED his pets. Dan and Sue had many pets over the years and if you couldn’t reach him on the phone, it was because he was outside either walking or playing with Snowball.
His laughter was infectious. Dan had the best personality and was able to make friends and keep them very easily. Dan and Sue spent a lot of time at her family’s camp in Plymouth, MA and taking various vacations with the whole Short Family.
There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, December 6th, 11:00 at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common St., Southborough followed by a Celebration of Dan’s Life in Fellowship Hall. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers and as Dan requested, donations can be made to the cancer charity of your choice or the ALS Association.
