Danielle L. Messier, 38 of Worcester, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital with her beloved family and friends by her side.
Danielle was born on August 2, 1979 in Worcester. She has been a lifelong resident where she graduated from North High School, Class of 1997. Danielle worked as the manager of Target on Lincoln Street for 17 years before leaving due to illness.
Danielle loved softball and in her younger years played for Jack Barry as a pitcher and on first base. Danielle was a wonderful and extraordinary soul. She always cared much more about others before herself. Danielle was an amazing mother, daughter, sister and friend. She is gone too soon but will always be missed and loved every day.
Danielle is survived by her two sons, Kashawn D. and Kaiden Ashton and their father, Douglas Ashton; her parents, Ronald E. Messier and Jeanne M. (Metivier) Messier; her brother, Ronald B. Messier; her sister, Julieann Messier; two nephews, Zachary and Cameron; her best friend, Melissa Escalera and her husband Anthony all of Worcester; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Betrand and June (Dalbec) Messier and her maternal grandmother, Jacqueline LeMay.
A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 4-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14th at 11 am in the funeral home followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
