David C Donahue

David C. Donahue, 83, a longtime Shrewsbury resident and real estate developer, passed away with loved ones gathered at his bedside, Friday, April 29^th, 2022, after a period of declining health.

In 1989, David married Sandra A. Hammond and they spent the next 32 years devoted to each other and their families.

David is survived by his love, Sandra; three children, David Donahue of Easthampton,  Daniel Donahue and his wife Susan of Acton, Sharon Golen, and her husband Jason of West Boylston. He also leaves Sandra’s four children, whom he loved as his own, Dr.Jennifer Sargent of Shrewsbury, Casandra and Christopher Funk of Worcester, and Brian Funk in Virginia;  11 grandchildren;  extended family, and a host of friends who loved him.

David was a commercial and residential real-estate developer who owned Westview Construction Company. In his company, David focused his projects all over New England always blending them into the area and with aesthetic beauty and living conveniences.  David also assisted his wife Sandra in her company Keeping Books.

David was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral. He loved to travel with Sandra, visiting many destinations around the world, particularly fond of Ireland. When he wasn’t working or traveling, he loved to spend time with friends and family.  His waterfront home on Lake Quinsigamond was also his peaceful place. David and his mother-in-law, Adele could usually be found sitting outside looking at its beauty or on the boat traveling its waterways.

Friends are invited to a period of calling hours, Tuesday, May 3^rd from 9 am to 10:45 am in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Worcester. His funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to St George Orthodox Cathedral memorial fund, 30 Anna Street, Worcester.
