Dawn M. Gentile

Dawn M. Gentile, 45, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 8, 2018, at UMass Hospital.

Dawn in survived by three children, Anthony Gentile of Auburn, Michael Kostrzeba of Spencer, and Amber Gentile of Worcester; her parents, Joseph “Tom” Gentile and Donna (Fournier) Gentile, both of Worcester; two sisters, her twin, Dina Gentile Mulvey and her husband Thomas of Worcester, and Jodi Jimenez and her husband Alvin of Texas; three grandchildren, Lily, Aydin, and Ayvah Grace Gentile; a long-time companion, William Bara of Spencer who loved and cared deeply for her and her children; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Dawn’s sister, Shelley Bucinskas, predeceased her in September 2015.  Dawn was born in Worcester and graduated from Shrewsbury High School, she later graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College.

Dawn worked as a legal secretary in the Law Offices of Attorney Albert Hayeck.  She had previously worked as a security officer in the Worcester Public School system and at Lincoln Village.  She enjoyed rock concerts, especially with her favorite band God Smack, dancing, going to the beach, socializing, and being with her friends.  Her outgoing personality allowed her to make friends anywhere she went.

Dawn’s family would like to thank the wonderful people at UMass and the staff from the 7th floor ICU, especially Dr. Bielick, for the special attention given to Dawn.  Their compassion brought comfort to Dawn and her family while she was in their care.

Calling Hours for Dawn, will be on Wednesday, June 13, from 4 p.m. until her Funeral Service begins at 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
