Deborah Shack

Deborah (Sherwin) Shack, 83, of Worcester, MA passed away June 24, 2023, after a period of declining health. Her husband, Arthur Shack, died in 1985. She is survived by her son, Sean Donald, his fiancé Mandie, and their daughters Kaitlyn and Sarah, and her granddaughters Ashley and Tiffany Donald, as well as 3 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a half- brother, Mark Sherwin of Marble Head and a half-sister, Gloria Ferer of Anaheim, CA. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Howard I. Cohn.

Born in Boston, the daughter of Abner and Jewel (Rano), she graduated from Venerini Academy and attended Commerce High School, later graduating from Fletcher High School in Jacksonville, FL. She also attended the University of Florida and graduated from Broms Academy in Worcester.

While in Florida, she was a claims secretary at Prudential Insurance for 6 years. Upon her return to Worcester in the 1970’s she was a hairdresser and stylist in Union Station and later at Mayflower Barbershop on Forster St before she retired in 1980. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Emanuel, the Jewish Home for the Aged, and numerous other clubs and organizations, and she attended Saint Joan of Arc Church.

At Deborah’s request, there will be no public services.
