Deb A Dyer Duguay of Charlton and Fiskdale, MA died the 28th of February, 2022.
Mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother, reiki master teacher, aromatherapist, healer, sponsor, sponsee, a loving and caring friend, crafter, game player, dancer, amazing listener, a ray of sunshine, beach lover, traveler, teacher, fashionista, walker, hiker, bird lover, cat whisper, joyful member of the left-handed club, a planner, writer, reader, drawer, seeker, lover of special teas, coffee and flowers, gifted in the art of gab, goofball, delightfully silly, always in the moment, at times stubborn, outgoing, a friend to strangers, welcoming, intelligent, beautiful, and full of life.
A graduate of Worcester State College and Quinsigamond Community College, Deb worked at several hospitals in Central Massachusetts as an occupational therapist, always incorporating the healing techniques she loved, such as reiki, aromatherapy and laughter therapy. She frequently made reiki infused aromatherapy products for her friends and family, with the plan to eventually grow this passion into a business.
She was also a teacher and taught at Quinsigamond Community College for many years. Her classes were “Death and Dying” and “Growth and Development.”
She loved all cats, especially her two current darlings, Mama and Little One. Her favorite destinations for walks by the surf were York Beach, Maine and the Marginal Way in Ogunquit.
Deb loved helping others. She spent many years helping the wounded warriors in and out of the rooms of recovery. She was known as a teacher, OT, mentor, and friend to innumerable people.
She leaves two children, Etienne and Danielle Duguay of New York, two stepchildren Greg Duguay of Fairhaven and Karen Raposo of New Bedford, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Karen Lemoine of Worcester and Donna Hilton of Maine, a brother Bruce Dyer of New York, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her, and we will cherish her memory always.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations for her services and to fund the purchase of a memorial bench by the ocean surf, a tribute celebration on her birthday this July 4th, and a book of her drawings and photos.
