Delores J Perrone
We come to you with broken hearts to announce the passing of our beloved mother. Delores “June” Perrone 85 passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side on Thursday March 18, 2021. Born in Worcester on June 29, 1935, she was the third of four daughters born to James and Elizabeth (Zellmer) Pane.
June was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph who passed away on February 16, 2021, and by her parents and sisters Dorothy Robinson and Josephine Bouthillette.
June leaves her two daughters Tina (Perrone) Duxbury and her husband Clifford “Craig” Duxbury of Worcester, Theresa (Perrone) Holland and her husband John who passed away in 2013 also of Worcester. She leaves 2 grandchildren, Christina Castell of Hyannis Ma and Matthew Duxbury of Groton Ma. June also leaves a sister Patricia Sills of Grafton Ma and two sisters in laws Anna Perrone and Stellina Cicero, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
June was a lifelong resident of Worcester and a graduate of Commerce High School. She worked for Sears, Howard Johnsons and UMass Memorial where she retired from in 2001. She also waitressed the many events at the Knights of Columbus.
June enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends and spending time at their home on the Cape. June loved history and was an avid reader. She spent many hours with a good book in hand, but most of all June enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to cook, and it brought her great joy to see everyone around the table enjoying the delicious meals she prepared.
June was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She touched many lives, she was selfless and had a heart of gold. She will be missed greatly by family and friends, there is a hole in our hearts.
A celebration of June’s life will be held on Thursday March 25, 2021. Calling hours will be from 9:00am until 10:30 am at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester, Ma 01605 followed by a funeral Mass at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1290 Grafton St. Worcester, Ma 01604.
