Denise A. Snyder, 63, of Shrewsbury, MA passed away at home on March 29, 2023, after a courageous six month battle with cancer. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Snyder. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Kara Schneider (Ronnie) and grandson, Jackson, of Glen Allen, VA; siblings Linda Snyder of Holden and Philip Snyder (Susan) of Worcester; Nieces and nephews Tim Snyder (Rachael) of Nashville, TN, Katherine Snyder of Millbury, and Laurie Fournier (Matt) of Charlton; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Snyder.
Having just retired in February, Denise worked for the state of MA since 1982 as a child support enforcement officer. She was an avid coffee drinker who “ran on Dunkin,” and she enjoyed playing the lottery , especially scratch tickets, although she was never very successful at it. Above all, she will be remembered as a ferociously brave role model to her daughter Kara, whom she loved visiting, and a loving grandmother to Jackson, the light of her life.
Denise’s funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 3 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 10 Turnpike Road (Route 9 East), Shrewsbury. There will be a calling hour in the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the Mass in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester.
