Diane F. Bianculli

June 4, 1944 — January 28, 2022

Diane F. (Cooper) Bianculli, 77, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Diane was born in Lowell, the daughter of the late William and Frances (Meehan) Cooper, and grew up in Westborough. She was a graduate of Westborough High School where she was also a drum majorette.

She met and married her husband and best friend for the next 54 years.  They settled in Worcester, to raise their family.  They would be celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary this April, 2022.

Diane is survived by her husband, Jeremiah J. “Jerry” Bianculli; their children, Jeremiah J. Bianculli, Jr, William R. Bianculli, and Gina M. Fields and her husband Richard, all of Worcester; two cherished grandchildren, Gianna and Camden Fields; a cousin who was more of a brother, Dennis Peña of San Diego; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She worked for Alden Research and later went to Ward’s IBM School of Business.  She later worked in the communications center for Century, Worcester County National, Shawmut and Fleet Banks; all the while working beside her husband in their family business, “Jeremiah’s Tastee-Freeze” where she served as the operations manager but was better known as “The Cotton Candy Queen” where no one could make them bigger or better. Together, Jerry and Diane traveled to numerous events in Worcester and surrounding towns bringing smiles to children of all ages serving ice cream, frozen novelties, and her specialty, cotton candy for the past 50 years.

When not at work, she enjoyed nothing more being with her children and grandchildren.  She loved going to all of their sporting events.  She was also an avid Patriots and Tom Brady fan.  She then retired to help raise her grandchildren and loved spending time with them at the beach, by the pool and at the park.  Nothing made her happier than having her family with and around her.  Diane always selflessly helped others seeking nothing in return.  She truly was the matriarch of the family. She enjoyed cooking Italian food for her family and friends on Sundays. She enjoyed vacations in Maine, Florida and Aruba.  She always enjoyed a “good day” at the casino.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, February 4, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be on Saturday, from the funeral home departing at 9:40 a.m., in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint John’s Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
