Diva (Peruzzini) Barton

February 24, 1918 — May 30, 2018

Diva (Peruzzini) Barton, 100 of Worcester passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 30th 2018 with those she loved gathered at her side.

Born and raised in Fano, province of Pesaro, Italy, Diva was one of thirteen children of Evaristo and Concetta (DioTallevi) Peruzzini.   She began her employed life in Fano working with children, later in sericulture, producing silk.  Diva the immigrated to the United States in 1958 at the age of 40, where she married Raymond Barton; Over the next many years until 1992, when Raymond passed she raised her family devoted with love, faith, Italian heritage and devotion to this day.  In the US, Diva worked alongside her son Paul, as an assembler for Parker Metals, later Parker Manufacturing before it closed.  Diva then accepted a position with Shaw’s supermarkets, a job she loved and was considered the fastest and best bagger.

Diva’s husband Raymond passed away in 1992:  She is survived by her Son, Paul with whom she lived; a sister, Maria Delpino in Italy; three granddaughters who she dearly loved, Paula and Linda Barton, Lisa Barton-Ramos and her husband Luis all of Worcester; her former, Daughter in law, Magda Barton; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends both here in the United States and back in Italy.  Ten brothers and sisters, pre deceased her.

Diva was a member of St Christopher Church. A devoted Catholic who read the bible daily, attended church as often as she could.  Very generous with her love, time and resources, Diva helped anyone she could, notably knitting and crocheting articles to donate to the church for needy people.

Diva also loved gardening, flowers, walking when able and traveling, especially returning many times to Italy to visit family and friends, a longtime Red Sox fan, watching every game she could.    She truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important and had room in her heart for everyone she met.   Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.
