Dolores M. Ventresca

Dolores M. (Longa) Ventresca of Worcester, MA passed away peacefully on Sept 6, 2022 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 89.        

Dolores was predeceased by her husband Louis of 60 years.  She is survived by three daughters, Donna Beaupre and her husband Bruce of Westwood, Cheryl Galvin and her husband Mark of Peachtree City, GA, Karen Esteves and her husband Rodger of Shrewsbury; her sister Beverly DeMarco of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Brian Beaupre and his wife Meghan of Milton, Tara Kearney and her husband Brian of Westwood, Ryan Galvin and his wife Kate of Dunwoody, GA, Caitlin Galvin of Savannah, GA, Michael Galvin of Charlotte, NC, Brianna Joachim and her husband Andrew of Boston, Brandon Esteves of Worcester, and predeceased nephew Robert DeMarco of Boylston;  five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dolores was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Theresa (Basilla) Longa and was born and raised in Worcester.  Her family and friends called her Tootsie.  She graduated from Commerce High School and worked as a bookkeeper for Ware Pratt Company, First Aid Pharmacy and a law office. She was active in the PTA, The Sons of Italy and was a Justice of the Peace.  She and Louie enjoyed spending winters at their home in Hallandale Beach, FL for 35 years. She embraced her Italian heritage and especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was famous for her meatballs.  She was kind and generous and her family was her priority.  We will all miss her dearly.

Dolores’ funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13^th at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd, Worcester, MA. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 13^th from 9-11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester prior to departure for her funeral mass.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dolores’ memory can be made to the MGH Heart Center Fund, c/o MGH Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 140, Boston, MA. 02114 or online: Giving.massgeneral.org/donate.
