Donna beat her pulmonary hypertension diagnosis and her family couldn’t be prouder of how hard she fought to stay with them. A very special thank you to Dr. Mary Jo Farmer who cared for Donna throughout her long illness, and to Dr. Stephen Smith, who not only cared for her, but made many visits to her home providing personal care that the family is so grateful for.
Donna grew up in Worcester and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She began working right out of high school. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe in 1969 and started a family 11 months later. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in their teens. She went to work at the Town of West Boylston Treasurer's office, later at Van Scoy Diamond Mine in Natick, Sani Mate Supply as part of their customer service team and retired as a Company secretary from Spencer Technologies. Donna took much pride in her work at home and at the companies that employed her.
Donna enjoyed nothing more than hosting family holidays and parties. She would always say it was hard work to host, but loved to see her family together laughing even when the amount of people seemed to overcome her home. When she didn’t host, she could be found doing most, if not all of the cooking for events at her children’s homes. She enjoyed vacationing in Cape Cod, Wells and York Maine, and most recently Lake George, New York with her husband, children, and grandchildren Donna and her husband loved visiting Las Vegas, enjoyed going out for breakfast, trips to the casino and visiting Saratoga Springs, and weekends in Cape Cod, Maine, and Atlantic City. They traveled to Florida for part of the winter for the past several years and enjoyed the company of Donna’s brother Michael and his wife Rose.
Donna's greatest blessing were her 7 grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. Donna could often be found at the soccer field, baseball field, football field or basketball court cheering on her grandchildren with her husband Joe. She often spent her Saturdays and Sundays attending 6 plus games on any given weekend with Joe. Donna will be greatly missed by her family and friends
