Donna B Gentile

Donna B. (Auger) Gentile, 81 of Worcester and Vero Beach Florida, died peacefully Monday January 7, 2019 in the  Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach with her husband by her side. Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years Francis M. “Googie” Gentile, a son Michael F. Gentile and his spouse Dale, a daughter Donna M. Scola and her spouse Stephen all of Worcester. Donna was the proud Grandmother to Tanya and her husband David DeLos Santos, Anthony Gentile, Dana Scola, and Marc Scola and his wife Michelle. Donna was the loving great grandmother to Tyler, Ryan, an Evan, and leaves many nephews and nieces. Donna was predeceased by a Brother Paul Auger, and two sisters June Rebello and Merle O’Mara.

Donna was born in Worcester daughter of the late Wallace and Alice (Millward) Auger and has lived in Worcester for many years. She was a graduate of South High School. Donna worked at the Pres Met Company for many years before she retired. Donna and Francis enjoyed their time between Worcester and Vero Beach for many years. She was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Donna loved being at the beach, reading, playing bingo, and playing Shuffleboard at the Vista Gardens were she was a  five time tournament winner. Donna also enjoyed a good day at the Casino!  Donna was a wonderful cook and baker, she left many of her recipes to her family to carry on with family Traditions. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching the Bruins and Patriots. Although her most treasured times were when she was with her family. She will be sadly missed.

Donna’s funeral will be held on Monday January 14, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes 1290 Grafton St. Visiting hours with the family will be held on Sunday January 13, from 3PM to 6PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
