Doris E ( Bates ) Shavies 81 of Tacoma, Washington went home to be with the Lord and Savior on April 16th 2018, surrounded by her daughter & granddaughter.
Doris is survived by two son, Kevin J Shavies, Shawn R Shavies; and predeceased by her son Michael L Shavies of Worcester. Three daughter Tamra A Shavies of Tacoma, WA. Cerrita L (Hawkins) Shavies of Worcester; and Stacey R (Watson ) Shavies of Orlando, FL. Doris was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Carl & Gladys ( Hennessesy ) Bates . Seventeen grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Girls Trade. Doris was a Native American Indian and was a member of the Nipmuc Indian Tribe, where her father was Chief Sun Cloud, and her name was Princess Wild Flower. Her heart was full of love and she cherished her children, and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 4th from 5 p.m. to 8 p. m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL on 370 Plantation St. Worcester. Her Funeral Services will be held Saturday May 5, with a time of visitation from 9 a.m. until her Funeral begins at 10 a.m. at Belmont A. M. E. Zion 55 Illinois St Worcester. Interment will follow to Paxton Cemetery, in Paxton.
