Dorothy Ann (Cursi) Bisceglia, 96, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, with her husband and daughter by her side.
We were blessed to all have just celebrated her 96th birthday on October 15th.
Dorothy was born in Worcester to the late, Nazzareno and Rita (Basillissa) Cursi. She went to Worcester Girl’s Trade School and worked at Telecron and Babyhood Industries. She met her husband Patrick on a blind date and were married on July 20, 1963.
They enjoyed many happy times spending summers at Nantasket beach, the casinos, trips to Las Vegas, California, Italy, and Nova Scotia. Her favorite times were spent at home in Shrewsbury, cooking wonderful Italian food and decorating her lovely home which she took so much pride in, and spending time with her grandchildren. She spent the last few years in the loving care of Christopher House where she received excellent care and kindness.
Dorothy is survived by her adoring husband, Patrick A. Bisceglia; her loving daughter, Dori and her husband John Walsh; her adored grandchildren, Patrick Walsh and his fiancé Courtney, Maria Walsh and her boyfriend Andrew; her dear great granddaughter, Isabella, who was her joy; her sister, Lucille Giangrgorio; and many special nieces and nephews, who were always so kind to her. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Sadly, in addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters, Rosemarie Burton, Anamae Pats, and her brother, Robert Cursi.
We want to thank the wonderful staff at Christopher House who gave her such excellent care all these years.
A Memorial Mass will be held on November 26, 2024, at St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury, at 11:00am for Dorothy. Immediately following Mass, the family would like to invite everyone to the Italian American Victory Club, 26 Dewey Rd, Shrewsbury, for luncheon in honor of Dorothy's life.
