Edmond William Lorion, Jr.

June 7, 1932 — October 27, 2018

Edmond William Lorion, Jr., (86), " Country Ed" of Worcester, passed away Saturday, October 27th 2018 with family gathered at his side.

Edmond is survived by his son, Edmond W. Lorion, III of Rochdale; two grandsons, Madison W. and Macklin D. Lorion, both of Worcester; his daughter in law, Mary Iovanni of Worcester; a brother, Donald Lorion and his wife Ann Marie of Worcester; two sisters, Anita Derosier and her husband Homer of Auburn and Dorthea Mellon of Dudley; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard Lorion.  Edmond was born in Fitchburg, son of the late, Edmond W. and Mary Lena (Eaton) Lorion.

Edmond had a long career as a crane operator in the building wrecking business, starting with Federal Building Wrecking Company; later operating his own businesses, Lorion Building Wrecking and Lorion Contracting.  He also worked for F & D Truck and Malinowski Wrecking Company before he retired.  He continued to have a strong work ethic and remained active in the carpentry and remodeling several years after retirement.

Edmond had been a member of Saint Catherine of Sweden Church and was a former member of the Auburn Elk’s.  He enjoyed country music, spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Calling Hours for Edmond will be held Friday, November 2nd 2018 from 9:30 am

until his Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
