Edmund E. Robertson, 96, of Millbury, reposed to the Lord on December 19th at home with his loving wife and daughter. He was known as “Papa” to all those who knew him and loved him.
Edmund was born in Worcester on June 2, 1928, son of the late Harry and Mary (Nichols) Robertson. He attended Commerce High School in Worcester, MA and was a long-time employee at the former Washburn Company and New England Plating Company where he retired from in 1991. Edmund also worked for many years at Advanced Pest Control.
Edmund was a long-time resident of Auburn where he was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish where he served as an usher for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, and bowling earlier in his life, as well as the Boston Red Sox. Later in life he loved to binge watch the reality court show Judge Judy as well as making day trips to local casinos. Over the years, both before and after his retirement he traveled to various destinations with his wife including, Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda, Acapulco, Florida, California, Aruba, and his favorite destination of all, Las Vegas. He also camped with family on Cape Cod for 50 years.
Edmund leaves behind his beloved wife, Elena (Paladino) Robertson. They married on June 4, 1949, at Sacred Heart Church in Worcester. They were blessed to have more than 75 wonderful years of marriage together. He leaves behind a loving daughter, Christine McIntyre of Millbury; his adored grandchildren Adam Germain, Brian McIntyre and his wife Amy, Nichole Howarth and her husband Nicholas; a son-in-law Russell Germain; his dear great grandchildren, Riley and Alexandra Howarth, Jonah and Nikodemos McIntyre; his cherished brother, William Robertson and his wife Rita; and many nieces and nephews. Edmund was predeceased by his daughter, Marlene Germain, and his siblings, Ronald Robertson, Carol Hale, and Evelyn Johnston.
Additionally, he was a wonderful, caring, and giving father figure to his grandson Brian for 46 continuous years.

Relatives and friends are invited to extend their condolences at Edmund and Elena’s Memorial gathering from 8:30a.m. to 9:30a.m. at the Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. At 9:30a.m. the procession to Sacred Heart - St. Catherine of Sweden Parish, 596 Cambridge St., Worcester for their Memorial Mass at 10:00a.m. will begin. Interment will immediately follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edmund’s memory to the Heart Association. May his memory be eternal.
