Edward L. Watson, aged 79, of Shrewsbury, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.

Edward was born in Worcester on September 1, 1945, to the late, Joseph L. and Margaret (Doyle) Watson. He was a proud veteran and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he was a long-haul truck driver and worked for the family business, CANE Truck Leasing.

He was a resident of Shrewsbury most of his life; after retiring he spent many years living in Maine with his beloved dog Tug. There he spent his time antiquing, collecting vintage toys, lots of depression glass and working at Home Depot to keep busy. Edward moved back to his hometown Shrewsbury in recent years.

Edward loved animals, country music, semi-trucks, stock car racing, fishing, and watching the Boston Celtics with his nephew-in-law, John.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Robert J. Watson and his wife A. Susan (Mattero) Watson and sister, Carol (Watson) Sheehan and her husband Kenneth Sheehan. Edward was also preceded in death by his nephew-in-law, Jeffery Berg and his great nephew, Garrett Van Epps.

Edward is survived by his many nieces and nephews, who simply referred to him as “Uncle”; Nancy Watson of Worcester, Christopher Watson and his wife Cheryl (Maesto) Watson of Shrewsbury, Ellen (Watson) Nuzzolilo and her husband John of Shrewsbury, Amy (Watson) Berg of Providence, RI, Erin (Sheehan) Van Epps of Southington, CT, Tara (Sheehan) Holmes and her husband Chris of Auburn, Terrence Sheehan of Fort White FL, Kelli (Sheehan) Pierangeli and her husband Rob of Douglas, Kerri Sheehan of Danielson, CT. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Kathlyn, Samantha, Mikaela, Cailey, Rylee, and Christian. One great-great niece and 4 great-great nephews.
