Elayne “Lee” Perrone, 87, of Worcester, beloved Mom and Mimi, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 15, 2022. She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband and the love of her life, John Perrone. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Lori Martin and her husband Scott of Holden, granddaughters Julianne Martin and her partner Corey of Newton and Marissa Martin and her fiancé Ben of Okinawa, Japan. She also leaves a son, Richard Fish of Worcester, a daughter, Marlena Minichilli of Alabama, granddaughter Brianna Lee, and grandsons Marc and Daniel Powers, as well as two great-grandchildren.
Lee spent her career in social services and was a staunch advocate for the elderly and homebound. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and helped spearhead Worcester’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade in 1983. She once made national news for saving a tree! Lee will be remembered for her quick wit, awesome culinary skills, and love of fashion-she always noticed your shoes!
We will be forever grateful to everyone at the Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence and the Jewish Healthcare Center for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Food for the Poor, 44 Temple St, Worcester, MA 01604.
