Eleanor R. (Litvaitis) Dufresne, 91, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Saint Francis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Eleanor is survived by three sons, Daniel Dufresne of Auburn, Paul Dufresne of Leicester, and Thomas Dufresne of Worcester; two daughters, Deborah Dufresne of Greenville, NC, and Donna Beaupre of Springhill, FL; a brother, Donald Litvaitis of Grafton; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Eleanor experienced a loss that no parent should endure, when her son, John Dufresne died in January 2018; she was also predeceased by her brother, Eddie of Florida. Eleanor was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Charles and Margaret (Esloon) Litvaitis, and has lived there all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School and from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1954.
Eleanor dedicated her career to caring for others as she worked at Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse for over forty-nine years, retiring in 2005. She was mother to a flock of birds, including parakeets, love birds, cockatiels, and parrots.
Private services to be held on Friday March 10, 3:00 to 4:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Mausoleum in Worcester.
The family has entrusted Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel.
