Eleanor M. “Nan” (Johnson) Kristo, 94, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. She is reunited with her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Paul P. Kristo, who predeceased her in April 2012, and with her son, David R. Kristo who died in 2004.
Nan is survived by four children, James P. Kristo and his wife Evelyn of Palmdale, CA, Stephen W. Kristo and his wife Louise of Shrewsbury, Jeanne M. Linden and her husband Dr. Christopher Linden of Shrewsbury, and Barbara A. Hardy of her husband Terry of North Grafton; nine grandchildren, Erik Comes and his wife Danielle, Kelley Gallivan and her husband Timothy, Kathryn Sacco and her husband Keith, Amy DeLuca and her fiancé David Romard, Lucas Kristo and his wife Kelly, and Claire Kristo, Meredith Linden, Rebecca Huard and her husband Travis, and Martha Linden; seven great grandchildren, Lola, Emma, Anna, Paisley, Ryder, Rose, and Violet; nephews, nieces, and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, William, Donald, and Claire. Nan was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Carl E. and Marie A. (McWade) Johnson. She graduated from Saint Peter’s High School.
Nan dedicated her life to caring for her family and is fondly remembered as a great and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She entered the workforce after graduation and worked at Rockwood Sprinkler as secretary to the Vice President, when her children became more independent, she returned to work for H. Lincoln Harrison Insurance Company and Winchester Insurance.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Nan and Paul enjoyed ballroom dancing and were members of the Frohsinn Club, Maironis Park, and Mosley’s on The Charles. She also taught line dancing at several area senior centers. Nan was always ready for a game of cards or pool and her daily dish of chocolate ice cream. Being at the lake with family and friends made her happy.
Her Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, June 30, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours and interment beside her son and husband, will be private.
