Elizabeth E. “Betty” Paquin, 67, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Saint Vincent Hospital.
Betty is survived by her loving family, including a son, Brandon G. Paquin and his wife Alexis of Leicester; two daughters, Stephanie M. Telemaque and her husband Reginald, and Nicole M. Gentile, all of Spencer; a sister, Donna M. Degnis of Worcester; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a step-daughter, Tammy Lee Paquin; and by two sisters, Rosemary Degnis and Jane Zdonczyk. Betty was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, George and Adele (Kochinskas) Degnis, and has lived in Worcester all her life. She graduated from Girl’s Trade High School in Worcester, later graduating from Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester State University.
Betty worked as a teacher for the Grafton Job Corps for over twenty-five years, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, visits to Hampton Beach and “The Wonder of It All”. She loved to be with her family and Christmas was her favorite holiday, because she was surrounded by all those she loved.
Calling Hours will be on Friday, November 23, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Family and friends will then gather for a Graveside Service on Saturday, November 24, at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
