Emilia T. (Salvia) Manzi,92 of Worcester died peacefully on Sunday July 7, 2019 at the Beaumont of Worcester. Her husband Rocco Manzi died in 2002. Emilia is survived by her loving family, two son’s Joseph Manzi and his fiancé Bonnie D’errico of Auburn, Francesco “Frank” Manzi and his wife Traci of Charlton, and her daughter Maria Hagerty and her husband Vincent of Hubbardston. Emilia was the loving grandmother to Victoria Hagerty, Gianna and Frank Manzi, and the late Jacob Hagerty. Emilia also leaves a brothe Rocco Salvia In Italy and also leaves several nephews and nieces here and in Italy.
Emilia was born in Lauranzano di Provencia Potenza Italy and came to the United States in 1960. She worked many years as a seamstress at the former Cottage Tailor Shop before she retired. Emilia was a longtime member of St. Peters Church. In tradition to her Italian heritage she loved to cook, tend to her garden, and loved being a homemaker for her family. Her Catholic faith was an important part of her whole life. Emilia sara’ tristemente mancato dalla sua famiglia amorevole e gli amici. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Emilia s funeral will be held on Monday July 22, 2019 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30AM in the Church of St. Peter 931 Main St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 9AM to 10:30AM prior to leaving for church. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum with her husband. Contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Massachusetts 33 Lyman St. Suite 205 Northborough, MA. 01581.
