Emma M. Ferraiuolo

Emma M. (Zicaro) Ferraiuolo, 102, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at UMass Hospital. Her husband, Michael J. Ferraiuolo, predeceased her in December 1986.

Emma is survived by a son, Michael G. Ferraiuolo of Worcester; a daughter, Linda R. DeNittis of Worcester; five grandchildren, Mark DeNittis, Michele Ferraiuolo, Mia Ferraiuolo and her husband Steve Harper, Monica (Ferraiuolo) Friend and her husband Eric, and Michael S. Ferraiuolo; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandsons; nieces and nephews.  Emma was born in Worcester, daughter of Carmine and Rose (Capalbo) Zicaro, and has lived here all her life.  She was predeceased by her two brothers, Angelo and Frank Zicaro, Sr., and her sister Teresa Quatela, she was also predeceased by her daughter in law, Shirley (Uminski) Ferraiuolo.

Emma was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade School.   Emma was a wonderfully kind woman who lived a wonderful life focused on family.  She was a 60 year cancer survivor.  Emma was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church and was a member of the former Saint Margaret Mary Church.  She was a longtime volunteer at Salisbury and Shrewsbury Nursing Homes.  She was a member of the Worcester, Shrewsbury, and Saint Anne Senior Centers, The Catholic Daughters, TOPS, the Saint Margaret Mary Guild; and for thirty-seven years, she regularly played cards with the Tuesday Card Club, and she enjoyed playing BINGO as well as trips to the casino.  Emma’s pizzettes and snowballs were the best!

Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, December 8, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be on Thursday, December 9, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 9:40 a.m. to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester.  Entombment will follow at Notre Dame Mausoleum.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.
