Emmie Lou (Lamb) Westerlind 57, of Brooklyn CT (formerly of Oxford, MA and Clinton, MA), passed away at home on March 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Emmie is survived by her former husband of 24 years, Rick Westerlind of Oxford, five beautiful children: Meghan Westerlind and her partner Chris of Brooklyn CT, Michelle Powell and her partner Steve of Webster, Nicole Westerlind of ME, Lauren Farr and her husband David of MD and Marc Westerlind and his wife Erin of Attleboro. She leaves behind her wonderful grandchildren, James, Cheyenne, Jayden, Reveille, Mason, and Michael. Emmie also leaves behind her sisters Tammy Brooks-Rebello of Oxford and Kimberley Bradford-Sage of Victoria, Australia, her brothers Edward Lamb of IN, Robert Lamb and his wife Carey of West Boylston, and several other siblings. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews including Sarah Blais and her wife Rachael of Peabody, Hope, Olivia, Meghan, and Lily, all of Victoria, Australia. Family was very important to Emmie, and she spent her life dedicated to making memories and showering them with love. She loved to travel everywhere and anywhere. She made trips to Australia, Paris, Jamaica, Amsterdam, Germany, Belgium, and took a U.S. cross-country road trip, just to name a few. As a United States Army veteran who served for six years, Emmie demonstrated a strong work ethic, both in her personal and professional life. While working for many years as a planner and senior planner in the manufacturing sector, she made many wonderful friends along the way. Among those she considered family are Seth and his wife Jackie, Lucy and her husband Frank, and Maria, who passed away in 2019. The family would like to thank her current employer, Columbia Tech, and the Coughlin family for their support of Emmie. Also, a big thank you to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston and Day Kimball Hospice in Putnam, CT, for everything they have done. Please join us in celebrating the life of this loving, dedicated, and adventurous woman. A period of calling hours will be held Friday, March 25 from 4-6PM at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester, followed by a brief memorial service at 6PM.
